Baby Ahnalysse was born 2 weeks premature and diagnosed with Supravalvular Aortic Stenosis (SAS) which is a narrowing of the aorta. Her parents, Christopher and Kaily, are from Lafayette and had to travel to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans for further testing and evaluation. Due to SAS, Baby Ahnalysse will be needing open heart surgery before her first birthday. Her doctors in Lafayette and at Children’s Hospital are keeping a close eye on her condition and the family expects that they may need to return later in the year to RMHC for the surgery. Although her parents had to stay at the hospital with Ahnalysse, her grandparents, Tina and Donnie, truly enjoyed their stay at RMHC. They said, “The staff are so very nice and friendly. They made us feel at home. The Home is so clean and comfortable and anyone who would or should need to stay here should be very thankful and blessed”.
