Lily, age 12, was diagnosed with Dopa Response Dystonia, which involves involuntary contraction, tremors, and other uncontrolled movements. It is a rare inherited dystonia, which only affects one in one million people worldwide. Lily has gone through extensive testing for over 5 years and continues these tests to learn more about how her condition will affect her in the future. She suffers from internal issues that go unseen, yet the obvious characteristic is seen in her feet, which are inward and upward turning.
Mom says, “Families at the RMHC build bonds that last a lifetime as we support each other as well as receive invaluable guidance and support from the staff. Being able to stay at RMH helps lift some of the burden we endure through testing and the gifts we have received bring out a light during hard times.”
