6-month-old was diagnosed with an atrial septal defect, which is a birth defect of the heart in which there is a hole in the wall that divides the upper chambers of the heart. This can cause difficulty breathing, heart murmur and other issues.
In adulthood, problems such as high blood pressure in the lungs and heart failure may occur.
With the proper medication and an amazing team of healthcare professionals, little Malakyah is moving in the right direction.
Mom says, “The RMHC house has been a big help to me and my family. I’m not working and staying here helps me so that I can be at the hospital with my child. I’m grateful and thankful for the house”.
