Zachary was born April 11th and immediately placed on an ECMO life support system due to Meconium Aspiration Syndrome, which occurs when a newborn breathes a mixture of meconium and amniotic fluid into the lungs during delivery. He was then rushed to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans 2 days later. Because of his condition, Zachary now has a G-Tube as he continues to aspirate his formula, but that’s not stopping this little warrior! After 2 1/2 months, little Zachary was discharged from Children’s Hospital last week. Zachary’s mom, Sheridan who is from Morgan City and stayed with us for 70 nights was excited to get back home, but sad to depart our House. Sheridan had this to say about her experience, “My stay here was amazing. I made friends and the staff is like family”.
