J’Cardi, from Challenger’s Village on the stunning island of St. Kitts, was diagnosed with
craniosynostosis, a condition that requires surgery to reshape the skull. Unfortunately, this surgery isn’t available in St. Kitts.
When his mother, C’Jaye, learned about J’Cardi’s condition, she jumped into action! Thanks to a generous benefactor from Manning’s Family Children’s Hospital, they received pro bono treatment and traveled to New Orleans, where they stayed comfortably at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana. They faced some communication challenges upon arrival, but thanks to Denise Parker, our amazing Community Resources Specialist, the family got a local phone to stay in touch with the hospital.
C’Jaye expressed her heartfelt gratitude: “Our stay here at RMHCSLA gave us peace of mind, knowing we had a clean,
quiet place to stay with friendly staff as my child underwent major surgery.”
We’re thrilled to share that J’Cardi is now stable and back home in St. Kitts! The family is incredibly thankful for this
life-changing opportunity and all the support they received!
