With the help of the local community, we help ease the financial and emotional burdens families face as they access critical care for their children. We are that home away from home, offering free accommodations, volunteer-provided meals, transportation when needed, a food pantry, and a support system like no other.
Our House
Many families travel far from home for treatment for their seriously ill or injured children, which can mean long periods away from home and loved ones. To help alleviate this stress, we provide a place where families can stay close to their hospitalized child at no cost.
We opened our iconic yellow House on Canal Street in December 1983 and in December 2022, we moved to a much larger, modern space designed to support families during challenging times. Our new facility, located just steps from Manning Family Children’s, features 22 private en-suite bedrooms, in-room entertainment, dual laundry facilities, a large chef’s kitchen, a dining area that seats over 60, and various spaces for play, relaxation, and reflection.
Concierge Connect
Ronald McDonald House South Louisiana is dedicated to enhancing family support through our Concierge Connect program. Upon arrival, guest families meet a member of our Family Services Team who will act as their dedicated concierge throughout their stay, ensuring that their needs are met with care and attention.
Additionally, Ronald McDonald House South Louisiana has a Community Resources Specialist available onsite to further assist families. This individual can help connect you with various resources, including counseling, food services, advocacy, and other supportive services tailored to your family’s needs.

Family Room
The Ronald McDonald Family Room at Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s & Children’s Hospital is designed to support families through their child’s medical journey.
Located on the 1st floor of the hospital, our Family Room provides a special place for families to rest and regroup.
Ronald McDonald Family Room Amenities include:
- Three private en-suite bedrooms with private bathrooms and toiletries
- Laundry facilities & supplies
- Kitchenette stocked with breakfast options, snacks, & hot / cold beverages
- Wifi, games, puzzles, & entertainment options
- Living room for respite & relaxation
Hospitality Carts
Our House to hospital halls.
Ronald McDonald House South Louisiana is committed to assisting families beyond our House. Our Hospitality Carts provide the rolling comforts of home such as snacks, drinks, toiletries, and activities for parents and siblings of pediatric patients at Ochsner Medical Center. A new cart is now available at Manning Family Children’s, made possible by the generous support of the Chris and Lentreise Bardell Family Foundation.

House-to-Home Case Management Program
Families play a crucial role in their child’s care while in the hospital, but transitioning home can present challenges. After receiving vital services and emotional support during their stay, many families encounter obstacles when they leave. Our Community Resources Specialist is here to assist families in accessing essential resources for a smoother transition. Through our House-to-Home Case Management program, we ensure every family has the tools needed for optimal health outcomes for their children.
