Staley was born on March 31, 2023, at 25 weeks of gestation. He had many health challenges, which caused him to spend 120 days in the NICU. After leaving the NICU, he came home a healthy baby. However, about a month ago, he developed the flu.
His illness was so severe that he was flown in from Lafayette, LA, to New Orleans and was placed on a ventilator. He and his family have been in New Orleans for nearly two weeks now, and Staley’s condition is about the same, but his family is hopeful. The family is from Egan, LA, and Staley has two siblings who have joined mom
and dad here at Ronald McDonald House. Although the family has been here a total of 14 nights, they are hopeful that Staley’s condition will improve and they will be able to return home soon.
